Fertility Tests and Clomid!

I went to see my OB/GYN last week... and she walked in about 7 months pregnant... which is that I would be if I hadn't miscarried. That was sad, but it quickly got SO MUCH BETTER! She is very proactive about helping us get pregnant.

This morning I had an HSG. (hysterosalpingogram) They inject dye into your uterus to make sure all of your pipes are flowing and there are no blockages. $1,000 later and we know that everything is clear and normal! Ouch! But, they also say that your chances of conceiving within 3-4 months after an HSG are very high! I like that!

Next month we will also get a Sperm Analysis to make sure Skip's little men are swimmin' and I will get an FSH test to make sure I am producing quality eggs. I will ALSO start taking Clomid in mid February... so with all of this testing and the fertility drug, I just know it won't be long until we are pregnant again! Yippee!!!!

If for some reason we aren't pregnant by August (1 year from the miscarriage), then she will have us try some more options, such as IUI. Hopefully we won't need it, but I like knowing that we have options out there. And if all else fails, we know for sure that adoption is a wonderful thing!

I feel like we are taking positive steps forward and I am very optimistic. Skip is being very supportive and encouraging. He is going to be such a good Daddy. We can't wait to be parents! Thanks for your prayers, friendship, and love!

Checking In...

Hi all, me again. Still not pregnant. :-( But the great news is that all of our friends are popping up pregnant! We are so, so happy for them! (you know who you are) And a few more friends are joining the ranks of "Trying to Conceive," so it should be a fun year! baby bumps all around? (I should mention that I know a good pregnancy/baby photographer!)

It is time for us to ask the doctor for help. We are young and healthy, so we are very hopeful. Keep us in your prayers. I'm not sure what fertility drugs/procedures she will suggest... we just hope they are effective and not too expensive! (eek!) More later when we hear from the doc.

For now, I want to share this BEAUTIFUL video. Watch the whole thing! Hint: press pause on the music player at the bottom of the page so that you can hear the song on the video.

A Redneck New Year's

Skip and I joined some friends on the Double C Ranch in Roosevelt, TX to bring in the New Year. We enjoyed 4 or 5 days of hunting, telling stories around the fire, spotlighting, and dancing and partying with the locals. Good times with good friends... a great way to start 2009!

Christmas in Fredericksburg

I love how my father in law does Christmas.... Griswold style! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day in Fredericksburg with the Lietz side of the family. There is nothing better than celebrating Christ with the people you love!

!Viva Mexico!

We love vacation! 11 "Kanes" returned to Manzanillo for ten days of fun in the sun! We enjoyed reading by the pool, drinking beer on the beach, snorkeling, golf, early morning runs, game nights, dancing, playing in the sand with the kids, ATV riding, deep sea fishing, and so much more! We took 400! photos (mainly of Harper) but I'll share just a few...
