Golden Girl

Dear Hadley,

You are happy! And so much fun to be around.

You never met a food you didn't like. I love that about you.

Waking up next to you makes every morning the best one of my life.

Love from one happy gal to another, Mama

Earth Day

By my rough calculations, diapering and formula feeding a baby for one year is $2,890.  Breastfeeding and cloth diapering is around $380 assuming you make some of your own baby food.  Both assume you get most of your supplies as baby shower gifts. I’m no hippie, but that just makes sense! HAPPY EARTH DAY.

Hours in the Day

I know I haven't been posting much.  Or really putting all of my heart into it.

That's because my heart has been into enjoying my family.

And my time has been in photography!

I am sooooo blessed that business is booming.

See what I've been up to on my photography blog.

Sh*t My Kids Said

The latest Kheringtonisms...

K: "Mama, I hungy. Eat nuts, pease." (pointing at some almonds)

Me: "Nope. Sorry honey, but we are eating dinner soon."
K: "Aw, nuts."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She has been sick with high fever, lethargy, and a lot of coughing.  At the dinner table, she starts a coughing fit.  After a bit she stops and has a confused look on her face.

K: "Somefing in mouth. yucky."

It was a loogie.
Skip and I are laughing... he is proud and I am gagging.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And to take the cake...

Today I foolishly took both girls into Target when it was Kherington's nap time. Seriously, I know better.  She starts whining for me to buy her everything she sees. We are leaving a trail of hissy fits in our wake. People give me the evil eye.  We pass through the home decor section.
K: "Look! Mama, cocks!"
Me: "Yes, those are clocks.  cLocks."
K: "Yes. cocks! COCKS! MAMA, COCKS! WANT COCKS!! COOOOCKS!"
And it repeats as I sheepishly try to get out of earshot of... well, everyone.
How long do you think I need to use the Target on the other side of town?

Hoppy Easter!

At our house we make an effort to make Easter & Christmas more about Christ than Santa and the Easter Bunny.  But when your bunnies look this cute, how can you resist?!

6 Months

Happy Hadley is six months old today!

Photobucket

Baby girl, at six months:

You weigh just over 16 pounds

You can roll both ways and sit up for awhile

You love petting the dogs

You are eating solids and loving them

You still go to work with Mommy, rolling all over my office floor and squealing

You aren't sleeping through the night anymore following a nasty ear infection

You grab ANYTHING remotely in your reach and put it in your mouth

You pull hair

You already want to be a big girl

You love all things Kherington, even rough housing

You snuggle
You make an adorable Easter Bunny!

reflection

Last night I stood naked in front of the mirror before getting in the shower and gave myself a hard time about what two children and a busy, stressful few months on little sleep have done to me physically. My hair is falling out. I'm not bikini ready. I have bags under my eyes. I rarely look my best. My breasts aren't what they used to be.

Then I smiled and decided it was worth it.
